Amigurumi Crochet Little Hamster Free Pattern:

Head and Body:
Use a 2.5 mm hook (4 mm) and begin with light brown yarn.

For rounds 10-26, black text indicates light brown yarn while blue text indicates a color change to ivory yarn. Beginning with round 27, the remainder will be crocheted with light brown yarn.

R 10: 16 sc, 2 sc, 6 sc, 2 sc, 16 sc (42)
R 11: 15 sc, 4 sc, 4 sc, 4 sc, 15 sc (42)

R 17: 6 sc, dec., (sc, dec.) x 9, sc, dec., 6 sc (33)

Insert safety eyes in between rounds 13 and 14, 8 stitches apart. (Alternatively, you can embroider closed eyes on rounds 14, about 2.5 stitches wide and 5 stitches apart.) Embroider nose with pink yarn/embroidery thread in between eyes and in between rounds 14 and 15. If desired, use white yarn/embroidery thread to make a half circle framing the outer edge of each eye. The nose is about 2 stitches wide.
Finish embroidering the nose using black embroidery yarn to create a vertical line about 2 rounds long below the nose. Embroider whiskers on the sides of the face between rounds 15-16 and then between rounds 16-17. Each whisker should be about 2-3 stitches wide. Stuff the head and continue to stuff as you go.

Ear (Make 2)
R 1: ch 4, starting from the 2nd ch from the hook complete: sc, inc. x 2. On the other side of the chain complete: inc., 2 sc (9)
R 2: BLO 3 sc, inc. x 3, 3 sc (12)
R 3: BLO 4 sc, inc. x 4, 4 sc (16)
F.o. and leave a long tail for sewing.

Next you will use pink (or white/ivory) yarn to crochet along the leftover front loops of round 1 and 2 for a total of 21 stitches. After you attach yarn onto your hook, insert hook into the final remaining front loop of round 3. Your hook should be pointed inward, towards the center of the ear. Create a slip stitch on this loop, followed by a single crochet on each remaining loop all the way around, working in a spiral. When you’re finished, f.o. And weave in the beginning and ending tails.

You can either sew the ear on as is or pinch the bottom of the ear together (where you just finished off) so that 2 pairs of stitches align and sew these together. For the blanket yarn version, I weave in all ends at this point, and use similarly colored worsted weight yarn to later sew the ears onto the hamster.

Sew ears onto the head of the hamster onto rounds 8-9.

Leg (Make 2 in light brown and 2 in ivory)
Use a 2.5 mm (4 mm) hook.
R 1: ch 2, complete 6 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook (6)
R 2: (2 sc, inc.) x 2 (8)
R 3-4 (2 rounds): 8 sc (8)
R 5: ch 1, fold the top of the leg half and crochet closed with 4 sc (4)

Leave a long tail for sewing. For the blanket yarn version, I tuck in the end and use similarly colored worsted weight yarn to sew the legs onto the hamster.

Sew the 2 ivory legs at a slight angle (each facing inward) on rounds 20-21. Sew the 2 light brown legs near rounds 29-30, also at a slight angle (so that they face inward and “hug” the rounded body).

Tail
Use a 2.5 mm (4 mm) hook and light brown yarn. Stuff if desired.
R 1: ch 2, complete 5 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook (5)
R 2: inc. x 5 (10)

F.o. and leave a long tail for sewing. For the blanket yarn version, I weave/tuck in all ends at this point, and use similarly colored worsted weight yarn to sew the tail onto the hamster. Sew the tail onto the back of the hamster’s body on rounds 24-26.

The end!
