– Chenille yarn (worsted weight yarn, weight 4 mm) and 5/0 hook size (3.0 mm) – main
– Cotton yarn (sport weight yarn, weight 2.5 mm) and 4/0 hook size (2.5 mm) for a beak, bow tie and hair
– Safety eyes size 10 mm
– Tapestry needle
– Scissors
– Fiberfill

With orange cotton yarn and 2.5 mm crochet hook:

R 2: inc, 2 sc, 3 inc, 2 sc, 2 inc [16]
R 3: 16 sc
Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.
Hair
With black cotton yarn and 2.5 mm crochet hook:
MR, 5 ch, from the 2nd ch from hook: 4 sl st on the chain, sl st into MR, 5 ch, from the 2nd ch from hook: 4 sl st on the chain, sl st into MR, 5 ch, from the 2nd ch from hook: 4 sl st, sl st into MR.
Tighten the MR. Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.
Bow
With black cotton yarn and 2.5 mm crochet hook:
MR, 4 ch, 4 tr, 4 ch, sl st into MR, 4 ch, 4 tr, 4 ch, sl st into MR.
Tighten the MR. Leave a very long tail for wrapping in the middle of the bow and for sewing.
Sew the wings to the sides of the body, the beak and hair to the head.
