Amigurumi Crochet Christmas Mini Gnomes Free Pattern-1

Let’s knit these cute little gnomes. And even a lady gnome. The knitting pattern is simple. If you’re a quick knitter, you can easily make one or two in an evening. If you attach a string to the top, they’ll make a wonderful Christmas tree decoration.

To work you will need:
— red, gray, brown, and white yarn;
— rice: we’re going to use rice as stuffing for the gnome’s body. If you’re knitting loosely, it’s best to sew the rice into a nylon stocking first, or use a smaller hook. The gnomes in the photo are crocheted with a 3 mm hook; you could use a 2.5 mm.
— scissors;
— a marker to mark the beginning of a row;
— a needle.

Abbreviations:
KA – amigurumi ring,

NOSE
White yarn.
Row 1: 6 sc in KA (6)
Row 2: (inc) x 6 times (12)
Row 3: (dec) x 6 times (6)
Finish the work, leave a thread long enough to sew on the nose.

BEARD
Let’s make the fringe. Cut 40 pieces of white yarn, 8 cm long. Fold them in half and thread them through the stitches in rows 19 and 20. Thread the yarn through 14 stitches in row 19 and through 12 stitches in row 20. Use a needle to separate the yarn so it looks more like a beard.

Assembly
Sew the nose under the beard at rows 18-19. The nose should be in the center of the beard.

Sew the cap to the head. Pull it slightly toward the body to hide the edge of the “beard” under the cap, and position it neatly above the nose. Sew it on, hiding the ends of the thread.
Alternatively, you can try making the body thicker and shorter. Or make a lady gnome (see photo below). Just remember to change the yarn colors.
