Materials
• Yarn in desired cat color *I used bernat blanket
• Yarn in red, white, black, and yellow
• 2 safety eyes
• 6.00 mm crochet hook
• Fiberfill stuffing
• Yarn needle
• Stitch marker
• Scissors
Abbreviations
• MR: Magic ring
• Sc: Single crochet
• Inc: Increase (2 sc in the same stitch)
• Dec: Decrease (sc two stitches together)
• DC: Double crochet
• FLO: Front loop only
• BLO: Back loop only
• Sl st: Slip stitch
• St: Stitch
• Ch: Chain
• FO: Fasten off
Amigurumi Santa Claws Cat Free Pattern:
Head & Body
Using orange or gray yarn (head):
Round 1: MR, 6 sc in ring (6)
Round 2: Inc in each st around (12)
Round 3: (Sc, inc) around (18)
Round 4: (2 sc, inc) around (24)
Round 5: (3 sc, inc) around (30)
Rounds 6-10: sc in each st around (30) [5 rounds]
Round 11: (3 sc, dec) around (24)
Insert safety eyes between rows 6 & 7, approximately 6 stitches apart.
Start to stuff with fiberfill.
Round 12: (2 sc, dec) around (18)
Optional: embroider nose and whiskers with black yarn. I added the nose at row 8.
Continue to stuff the head firmly. Before beginning the next round, change to red yarn.
Continuing from the last round, we will move into the body.
Switch to red yarn (body)
Round 13: (2 sc, inc) around (24)
Round 14: (3 sc, inc) around (30)
Round 15: (4 sc, inc) around (36)
Rounds 16-17: Sc in each st around (36) [2 rounds]
Switch to black yarn
Rounds 18-20: Sc in each st around (36) [3 rounds]
Switch to red yarn

Begin stuffing the body.
Round 25: (2 sc, dec) around (18)
Round 26: (Sc, dec) around (12)
Finish stuffing the body.
Round 27: Dec around (6)
FO and weave in the end.
Arms (make two)
Start with orange or gray yarn (same color you used for head)
Round 1: MR, 6 sc in ring (6)
Round 2: Inc around in each st (12)
Round 3: Sc around (12)
Change to white yarn
Round 4: In FLO, sc around (12)
Change to red yarn
Round 5: In the BLO of the previous round, sc around (12)
Rounds 6-7: Sc around (12) [2 rounds]
Lightly stuff the arms
Fold arm in half and sc 5 across the top. FO and leave a tail to sew onto body
Legs (make two)
Start with black yarn
Round 1: MR, 8 sc in ring (8)
Round 2: Inc around in each st (16)
Round 3: Sc around (16)
Change to red yarn
Rounds 4-5: Sc around [2 rounds] (add more rounds here if you want longer legs)
Lightly stuff the legs
FO and leave a tail to sew onto body
Collar accessory
Using white yarn
CH 28. Begin in the second chain from the hook and 3 DC in each st
FO and leave a tail to sew.
Ear
Start with color of yarn you used for the head
Round 1: MR, 6 sc in ring (6)
Round 2: Sc around (6)
Round 3: (2 sc, inc) around (8)
Round 4: (1 sc, inc) around (12)
Round 5: St around (12)
FO and leave a tail to sew onto head. If you are making a santa hat, you only need one ear. If you are not making a santa hat, make two ears.
Hat
Start with red yarn
Round 1: MR, 6 sc in ring (6)
Round 2: Sc around (6)
Round 3: Inc around (12)
Round 4: (1 sc, inc) around (18)
Round 5: (2 sc, inc) around (24)
Change to white yarn
Round 6: In FLO, st around (24)
FO and leave a tail to sew onto head.
Top of hat poof
Using white yarn
Round 1: MR, 4 sc in ring (4)
Sl st and FO, leaving a tail to sew onto the top of the hat
Assembly
1. Wrap the collar around the bottom of the head (neck). Sew the ends of the collar to each other
2. Sew the ear to one side of the head 3. Sew the hat poof to the point at the top of the hat.
4. Sew the hat to the other side of the head (opposite of ear).
5. Sew the arms on either side of body (approximately row 15)
6. Sew the legs on either side of the body, underneath the belt (rows of black)
7. Using yellow yarn, sew in the shape of a square onto the rows of black to look like a belt.
