The Beak

Use Orange yarn.

The Wings (Make 2)

The Feet (Make 2)

We will create three separate toes and join them.

Toe 3:

The Cardigan

Use Pastel Pink yarn. Worked in flat rows.

The Hood

For the ties: Join Pink yarn to one of the bottom front corners of the hood. Chain 25. Fasten off. Repeat on the opposite bottom corner.

The Daisy Appliqués (Make 6)

Start with Orange or dark yellow yarn for the center.

Round 1: 6 sc in mr, sl st to the first st to join. Fasten off the center color. (6)

Join White yarn in any stitch.

Round 2: [Ch 3, dc in the same st, ch 3, sl st in the same st, sl st into the next st] x 6.

Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. You should have 6 distinct petals.

Assembly Strategy

Position the beak centered between Rounds 15 and 16, beneath the eye line. Sew firmly into place.
Apply a small amount of pink blush to the cheeks using a soft brush.
Sew the wings against the sides of the body at Round 25, angling them slightly forward.
Sew the feet flat to the bottom of the body (Rounds 35-37) to ensure balance.
Dress the duckling in the cardigan, pin daisies to the front and sleeves, then sew them onto the pink fabric.
Place the hood over the head and tie a gentle bow under the chin.
